Today we live in a world where something as basic and necessary as freedom and peace, even after two world wars, thousands of civil conflicts and the hard work of thousands of people to give value to these two words ... are still rights violated by authoritarian governments, and by power against conscience.
Something as vital as love and help to others have been driven by personal interests and indifference.
Something as vital as respect and value to life have been broken by the strength of religion and the hardness of hearts.
But this can not discourage us or take our faith away for a better world for all, even if it sounds so utopian; on the contrary, today more than ever, living in a more diversified and at the same time more threatened society.. we must be the ones who give a step forward and the ones who says NO to repression and intolerance, we must defend loudly the right that belongs to us and the rights of those who no longer find strength. Today more than ever we can't stop until the day that each person is free to think, say and love what they want, the day that every woman, child and elder can go out to the streets of their city or town without fear And with a different mentality of tolerance, progress and peace. Only in union is strength, only in victory is perseverance and peace in mutual support, not as Americans, not as Europeans or as Asians but as citizens of the world who feel and suffer the suffering of every Arab and African child ... of each voice that has been silent in Venezuela, North Korea and Cuba.
We can't forget that these people, that thousands of people still suffer the consequences of injustice and violence. That should be our engine of change. And that change begins in me, in you and in each one of us eliminating first the prejudice, the ignorance, the indifference, the lack of hope in our hearts ... beginning to see us all as equals, as brothers, as human beings that have the freedom to be respected regardless of race, color, religion or social status. The day that everyone in a same feeling understand that black and white, atheists and christians, homosexuals and heterosexuals, rich and poor, women and men, liberals and conservatives ... we bleed the same, suffer the same, love the same and wish the same, only that day there will be equality, only that day you will understand the value of each one of us, only that day you will understand that the boundaries that separate us are nothing more than lines in paper because in the end, we are all citizens of the same world.
This is not a fight against any government, it is a struggle against ourselves and with those around us, a struggle that does not fight with bullets or bombs, but with the brain and the heart to remove from them the hate that today seems to propagate in all the world, a struggle that will take away the bands of division and give us the light of freedom; It will make us understand that the people are more powerful than a president, that love is stronger than hate and that each and every one of us deserve respect and love, but we must also give it. That is my dream, and only the dreamers can change the world.
